We took the babes to the dentist today for their first checkup. The dentist just counted their teeth and made sure they had no cavities. Each of them is still missing a few molars so we won't have a cleaning done until the next visit.
Our main purpose for the visit was to give them a good first impression of dental visits. Hopefully we succeeded. They seemed to have a good time and enjoyed talking about the dentist on the way home.
After the dentist we went to lunch and then ran some errands. The Target we went to is attached to a mall, so we let the three take a spin in the little vehicles.

Small Fortune
Here are some pictures of my recent trip to Wal-Mark (as Nannie and my children call it). My chest still hurts every time the cashier tells me the total. It is always painful.
This particular trip took place when we were low on a lot of items. We were pretty close to out of diapers, wipes, milk, oatmeal, wine--the staples.
I prefer to shop at Target, but Wal-Mart is 30-40 miles away (one in either direction) and Target is about 80 miles away. So, usually I only go to Target if I am in the big city for another reason.
When I go to shop I get a cart, go in and get non-grocery items--dog and cat food, diapers and wipes, paper towels, detergent, etc. I pay for those things, load them in my car, then take the cart back in for grocery items.
Almost all the time a cart equals roughly the same amount. It doesn't much matter what you fill a cart with, it'll run you about the same each time. At least that is my experience. The total for two carts of stuff usually equals my birthday (mdd). Yes, it truly is cardiac incident inducing.

Little Man
When people ask me about the differences between boys and girls, one of the first things I think about is the difference between the way they sleep. The girls snuggle up into little balls, curled on their sides or on their bellies. Elliott stretches out, often sleeping for long periods on time with his hands under his head. He just looks like such a little man when he sleeps.

Happy 2010
Our family wishes you a year filled with health, happiness, adventure and serenity. For your enjoyment I am sharing the tenth poem in my project40 undertaking. I suppose this is not technically a poem, but I think it is one of the most beautiful things I've read, so for me, that constitutes poetry.
Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi.
Lord make me an instrument of thy peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much as seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in the giving that we receive;
it is in the pardoning that we are pardoned;
it is in the dying that we are born into eternal life.
