The middle of the month the babes and I went to the beach for ten days. I had planned for us to go for a week. Sunday afternoon, day of departure, came and I couldn't leave. I knew it might be the last time for a long time that we'd be able to enjoy the beach. H and some friends joined us for the second weekend. Our children loved playing with almost-to-be-one-year-olds Ellie and Fin. The girls have since named their babies Ellie and Fin, the highest of complements from a toddler, I think.
We had a wonderful time. Most days we'd drag our wagon across the street to the bayou and the babes would play in the water and sand and sun. It was one of the best times I've had in a long time. The days were easy and carefree. There were no toys to clean up. The cooking and kitchen duty seemed easier. I enjoyed every day. The three did too.
Their growth and development was also evident to me on this trip. Perhaps I should say my growth and development was evident to me on this trip. I am building my confidence with the three. I took them to the zoo and the movies and to the big beach (bayou side) by myself. It was nice to be able to enjoy these outings the four of us. We missed H but I think it was really good for me to know that I can not only survive but enjoy these outings.
In the pictures below Lucia, Elliott, and Mazie Bell are pretending to be herons. Herons are one of my favorite birds and I am trying to convince the three to love them too.
I took them to see the movie Oceans. I hear it is a good movie. What we saw of it we enjoyed. We went to the bathroom nine times during the 90 minute movie. Thankfully we were the only ones in the theatre. I think they enjoyed the experience but 90 minutes is a little long for them. If they release a 45 minute movie, we are so there.
Junping off the pier into the shallow water was one of their favorite activities. I loved it because it wore them slap out.
Hermits are still one of their favorite creatures to enjoy.
Hermit crab races. Go Hermie Go.
Thanks for checking in on us. We hope you are enjoying the warming weather.
