Our next day, down in Orange County, we met up with our dear friends, Melanie and Alex. H and I have known them since Alex in six--she'll be 16 next year. Arrggg! We met at the Irvine Spectrum--a big ourdoor mall with some rides and fountains and live entertainment and lots of shops and eateries. 
We rode the carousel. Lucia still talks about how she chose the cat with the fish in its mouth.

There was a fun man who worked at the Spectrum who played with the children. They loved him and followed him all around.
