We had a busy Fourth of July weekend. So busy that neither H nor I ever took the camera out of the bag. Not a good habit to start.
Friday we went to our local community center for about an hour to take in the festivities there. A friend of ours who is eight and a half months pregnant organizes the town's Fourth of July celebration each year. There were antique cars, a mechanical bull, a stunt bike show, fried Oreos, blow up slides and other areas for the kids to play. We then went to our friends' house. Tiffany and Clay hosted a fun Independence celebration with lots of good food and good company. We intended to take the babies back to the community center for the fireworks, but made the decision not to. We felt they were too tired and that we had already stretched them enough.
Also, Saturday morning we headed to the Gulf for a quick 24 hour visit. H's parents were down there with Papa Glenn's sister and her children. There were eleven of them and seven of us. We had a great time hanging out with them. Glenn's sister has her first grandchild; he was born a month after our babies. I think three babies at once might have overwhelmed him at first, but after a short adjustment period they played well together.
We are sorry we don't have any photos of our red, white and blue weekend. We hope your had a good celebration as well.
